A Problem I Encountered and How I Solved or Managed It

Blogging used to be such a hassle and the templates were boring. It was a problem. Notice the word 'Was'.
The usual templates are boring with the same layout over and over again. With much help from my brother, I decided to edit one of the templates to make it fascinating and colorful for readers to enjoy my blog. I used to have problems editing my blog but using the help of internet, I can manage to change the pictures to my daily life's photos. Now I understand why people say 'Google' is so useful. You can literally type any question in their search engine and a solution would definitely be there. I tried 'Googling' 'How to add images to the blog' and that is how I got my photos up there to the left. I started learning step my step on 'http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp'. It is really helpful as it teaches me step by step on how to make the blog. I wanted to add music to the blog but there are many copyright infringements and I'm afraid I would violate one of them unknowingly. Blogging is now my way of life because it is a online journal where friends can get to know me better. For example, now they know that I'm quite good in editing blog so they can come and find me for help anytime. I still cannot decide if I should private my personal blog or let it remain as public. The reason I want to private it is because I'm afraid that I might accidently offend someone. I really need some help with this. Can someone please give a a suggestion via my comment box? Just click the 'comment' picture and you'll be directed to the comment box. Thanks alot! I would really appreciate it! Oh and if you need help on editing blog, I hope this can help!

Something Unusual That Happened That Day

Yesterday was just like any other day until police cars started swamping out car park.
It was a Saturday and as usual, I came back from Band Practice with my maid as Singapore Youth Festival is nearing. On our way back, we saw a grey 'Mitsubishi - Lancer' damaged quite badly parked by the side of the road. My maid saw the scene and questioned, " Sinclair, what happened to the car?" "Maybe its just an accident and the driver is taking down the other driver's information. Nothing special." Then my meddlesome maid, scrutinizing the scene then bellowed, " But look! There's a police car!" Me being so tired after Band Practice decided to scorn her. I was so tired that the moment I was on the bed, I dropped dead. Nothing could have awaken me at that moment.
Few hours later, Mum came into my room and shook me as if I was dead. "Hurry! Do you want to go out and eat? Otherwise you'll stay at home and eat instant noodle!" Me, being the great eater, of course would not miss out on the wide variety food that they're going to consume. I was out of bed in no time and headed for the shower.
While we were driving out of the car park, we witnessed many police vehicals swamping our area. "Weird... What happened?" I queried. The same grey car I saw this morning was actually cordoned off and police surrounded it! A tall, tough and well built police man came knocking our window. My mum, terrified, hurriedly opened our window and was questioned by the police man. "Have you seen this man?" He asked while pointing to a picture in his hand. "No, no... Sorry..." We replied with great fear.
What could have happened to the man and the car? I am still wondering to this day.

A moment spent alone doing something I enjoy

I relish the euphoric experience whenever I listen to music on my Iphone. Music brings out the sense of joy, happiness and freedom in me. I hope that I will be able to perform or at least be able to listen to music for the rest of my life, because without music, life would be incomplete.
The genre of music I listen to on a particular day largely depends on my mood. If I'm feeling happy or cheerful, I would choose a gleeful and uplifting song. One example is California Gurls by Katy Perry. The melodious chorus is very catchy and it expresses how California Girls are unforgettable.
As many will talk about Monday blues, I am no different. It is always regarded as the worst day of the week as there is are another five more days before the weekend commences. As such, in order to keep me going and ready to face the week, I would choose an upbeat song such as Last Friday Night as it reminds me of what I did last Friday.
If you're in a situation in which a song and its lyrics fits your feeling perfectly, you can really sing it with feeling. My love for music has grown throughout the past few years and continues to do so even today. Music is central to my life. Music can set the rhythm for a long day of work, the mood for a date, a party or even your whole life. Without music, the world would be naked, cold and quiet. It can wrap you like a blanket when you are down. Music is a vehicle for expressing love, telling a story, or even happiness.
I am really excited as one of my favorite singer/song writer, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, better known as Lady Gaga is releasing her new song, Born This Way on February 13. This is a great birthday gift from her as my birthday is just 5 days after her release date! Many people think she is simply crazy because of her outfits but I feel completely otherwise. She is just trying to prove a point that we are all born in different ways and no one is allowed to criticize one another. To end off this post, I would like to quote one sentence from her that leaves a very lasting impression in me.
'You have to be unique, and different, and shine in your own way'

A special moment I enjoyed with my family

10th of December last year was a moment, or rather, day I enjoyed with my family.
We embarked on the luxurious cruise, Super Star Virgo for our annual holiday. The cruise sailed off at about 9pm. We started our holiday by exploring the dinner options. There was anexcellent spread of cuisine to choose from. Be it Chinese, Malay, Japanese or Western cuisine, they were spread apetitisingly to entice your taste buds,
Each deck onboard the SuperStar Virgo aims to provide holiday makers with endless fun, entertainment and recreation activities. The cruise housed more than 25 outlets of different variety and authenticity of food and beverages, entertainment and recreation outlets to entertain you. One of the star attraction is the stand up comedian performance held at the 500 seaters’ Lido Threater. The spirit of the “kiasu” (the local term used to drescribe the mentality of been afraid to lose out) Singaporean was in full display. Despite our early arrive at the threater, to our horror, there were already countless number of people seated. Fortunately, we had priority seating at the better class tier balcony seats. The show featuring the comedian cum juggler named Terry Parade was a great hit among the audience. He was one of the main cast of the world renowed broadway act, Moulin Rouge, made famous in Paris, France.
The next day, we dragged ourselves out of bed at 6am to view the magnifant sunrise from our room/s balcony. To fully appreciate the magnificent view of the ocean, we went for an early morning job around the cruise. For lunch, we explored a new restaurant, Bella Vista, which specialized in Chinese cuisine. Using my recently purchased Canon digital camera, the DSLR, Canon 550D, I practiced my photography skills using the food as my untiring models. I hope the final results will do justice to capture the appealing decorated food.
After lunch, we were determined to expend our energies and wanted to forlick in the Parthenon pool. However, the pool was 2 meters deep throughout and I, being a weak swimmer, we have no other alternative than to proceed to entertain ourselves at the Jacuzzi pool. Immersing in the beautiful view of skyline melting into the ocean and the warm water lapping on me, it was utterly relaxing.
We end the day with a sumptuous dinner at the fine dining restaurant, the Pavilion Room, and soaked in the elegant embience enhanced by the perfectly cooked meal.
With great reluctance, we retired into our room for the night and mentally prepare ourselves for the end of the cruise the next morning. This is one of the many special moments we spent together as a family and I hope that there will be more such moments for me to treasure to define my growing up years

Something that took place in school

It is the start of a new school term. 'It wasn't just like any other day. It was a new beginning. I have to work hard this time.' I muttered to myself, however, this is exact duplicate every year .
'Sinclair, wake up! You're about to be late for school!' Our domestic helper exclaimed with much irritation. The routine of having to wake up at 6.30am, be ready to leave for school before 7am to be on time to attend the National anthem and the Victorian anthem ceremony at the school. With great reluctance, I dug myself out of bed and got ready for school with great haste. I hopped into my mum’s car for my ride to school, feeling both anxious and exciting with the prospect of the new acamedic challenges ahead and catching up with my school mates.
Our discipline master, Mr Chia, looked as fierce as ever as he scanned the incoming students for any violation of the school rules. As we gathered at the school hall, getting ready for the start of the morning assbembly, Mr Chia was yammering at the Sec 4s for not seated in a straight line. Some things never change, this is a familiar scene every morning. The Sec 4s clovered cooperatively to avoid been punished. After assembly, we headed back to our classroom. We were greeted by 2 stern-faced teachers. They introduced themselves as Mr Teo and Ms Tan. Mr Teo spoke first. He enunciated the class rules and his expectations explicitely . Ms Tan, on the other hand, gave us a silent physiognomy and she didn't talk much.
Recess time! The most-loved time of all the Victorians (the endearing term we use to address pupils of Victoria School). I hurrried down to the tuck shop and got myself something to munch on and interact with my buddies. The canteen didn't change much compared to the previous year, the food is as unapetitising as ever.
As the day dragged on, I resigned with much lesser enthusiasm at the prospect of the demands of the new year and the sacrafices I have to make to improve my grades. I went home with a heavy heart.

My name is Sinclair Lim, 14 this year. I am now currently trying to create a new blog for my English assignment. Blogging now of days has become much easier. By creating a blog, you just need to choose your design of the blog and you're done! There are many websites to create your blog. For example, 'livejournal', 'tumblr', 'blogger'. Typing a post online is just like writing a diary, expect that diary is private while you share your daily happenings with your friends via blog. This is my very first blog post.
